Title 1 Information

With the support of the Title I program...

• Children do better in school and feel better about themselves: The Title I program will provide your child with extra educational assistance beyond the regular classroom
• Families become more engaged in their child's education

Federal and Local governments work together

• The federal government makes funding available after the state submits a plan. The plan describes what students are expected to know and be able to do, as well of the standards of performance and ways to measure progress
• The state educational agency distributes the money to local school districts based on the number of low- income families
• The local schools district (or local education agency, LEA) identifies eligible schools and distributes the Title I resources.
